Focus and Organization
Focus and Getting Work Done
I like variety. There are times when I can distracted from doing what I planned to do, and lose my focus. I have developed some tricks and techniques to help me stay on task. If you have trouble with focus, I'll help you develop ways to get things done anyway. I also help with prioritizing, breaking big things into smaller tasks, and looking at the big picture
Organizing your Environment
I am not, by nature, an organized person. But I was raised by a mother who is skilled in this area and she taught me how to be organized. Because of my personality and my upbringing, I can relate to people who are not organized and I can also teach them how to be organized.
I feel more under control when I know what is going on. Here are some tools I use myself and recommend to my clients:
- paper home calendar (perhaps on the fridge or some other visible place)
- computer calendar with reminder beep for appointments
- a filing cabinet with labeled hanging folders
- a master "to do" list that I look at once a day
- a daily "to do" list with the things I must get done
- a place for everything and everything in its place
- time schedule with estimates for new daily routines and planning large projects
- snack in purse
- napkins and pen in vehicle's glovebox
- a mad dash to organize the spare room before guests arrive (maybe not this one)
Do you need some help getting organized or with focus?
